Overview

Heritage Oaks Golf Club is a Northbrook Park District facility with 27-holes of public golf, a practice range equipped with TrackMan Range technology, indoor golf featuring two Full Swing golf simulators, and a full-service restaurant, the Acorn Grill + Terrace. HOGC is home to the Northbrook Golf Academy, offering adult and youth player development, junior leagues, camps and clinics.

We are looking for an experienced candidate capable of managing high volume golf activity with the ability to build positive rapport and relationships with customers and staff. The Assistant Professional will manage all group play programs, including adult league play, special events, outings, tournaments and indoor simulator programs. Professional staff will have opportunity to provide private and group instruction with the Northbrook Golf Academy.

Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree from a college or golf industry school required.
• Class-A membership preferred; must be registered (level 2 or 3) associate in good standing with PGA of America.
• Three years of golf operations experience including league and outing administration.
• Knowledge and experience in golf shop merchandising, clubfitting and retail sales.
• Working knowledge of tee sheet software GolfNow or EZ Links and Tournament software such as Golf Genius.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist daily golf operations providing exceptional customer service to all guests.
• Coordinate adult league programming with annual agreements, weekly tee sheets, and on-course contests.
• Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of shotgun outings and group play tee time events.
• Manage tournament schedule registration, handicapping, rules of golf, and scoring.
• Assist with golf shop buying plan, merchandise receiving, inventory controls, and promotional sales.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the golf shop and clubhouse.
• Provide private instruction and equipment clubfitting by appointment.
• Instruct adult and youth group programs within the standards of the Northbrook Golf Academy.
